Guestbook | Print Obituary

Memorial services for Lisa Hayman, 57, of Canton, Texas formerly of Kilgore, will be 2:00p.m., Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Kilgore with Reverend David Hampton officiating. Ms. Hayman went to be with the Lord, Thursday, September 27, 2018 in Richardson, Texas.

Lisa was born in Longview, Texas to Ramona and Charlie Hayman. She was joined by her sister, Camber in 1963 and by her brother, Todd, in 1965. Lisa toggled between Kilgore and Dallas for many years. Along the way, Lisa made lifelong friends wherever she went. She was a good and popular student and graduated from SMU.

In high school, Lisa met her first love, David T. Reed. They were soon joined by their beautiful son, Matthew Brandon Reed in July 1983. Lisa married again, and she and Andy Bragg joined forces to raise Matt, along with Cody, Zach, and Chris Bragg in Plano. During this time, she gained a nephew when Camber adopted her son, Jake and Lisa and Jake formed a bond that was extremely strong and loving. Todd and his wife Amy provided Lisa with two nieces - Jackie and Lily Hayman, and three more nephews - Lawson, Walker and Bryce. In March 2007 Lisa lost her beloved Matt in a tragic oil field accident.

Lisa moved to Canton, Texas in 2014 and started a new life surrounded by her church family at Lakeside Baptist Church. Lisa loved to fish and was very proud to have the chance to fish with her nieces and nephews this summer.

She is survived by her sister, Camber, and Camber’s family Kara, Jake and Kaitlyn, her brother Todd and Todd’s family Amy, Jackie, Lawson, Walker, Bryce and Lily, as well as her step-sons, aunt, uncle and cousins. She was preceded in death by both of her parents and grandparents.

Lisa’s journey here took many turns and had many complications, but the love of family and friends saw her through. Recently, she posted Psalm 73:26 on her Facebook page. “My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion Forever”.

We find great peace in knowing that Lisa has already rejoined Matt and her parents, and that she is free from pain and illness.

Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m., Tuesday afternoon at First Baptist Church.
