Chris was born on June 21, 1977, in Longview to Raymond and Marilyn Church. He completed high school and worked for a number of years in the food service industry, most recently at Little Caesar’s in Kilgore. From a very young age Chris knew that he was different from other boys. As he got older he began to perform in various cabaret venues in East Texas and Northwest Louisiana as “Ms. Lexi Parker”. Chris loved to design clothes, especially the outfits that “Lexi” wore on stage and was known to sometimes “borrow” his sister’s clothes if they were the look that “Lexi” was after. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and had a “Green-thumb”. He loved his family and friends and spending time with them was when he was happiest.

Left to cherish his memory are his siblings, Patricia Hines and husband Stan of Kilgore, Rex Phenix and wife Kim of Michigan, Robert Phenix and wife Shirley of New London; nephews, Raymond Ramirez and Philip Ramirez of Kilgore and his furbaby, Chica. He will be greatly missed by these family members and friends who loved and supported him unconditionally.

Chris was preceded in death by his parents and close friend Henry “Midnite” Newman.
