Services for Rev. David Doyle Ferguson 79, of Kilgore will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Grace Fellowship Church in Kilgore with Pastors Roger Hoffpowier, Brian Nutt and Terrill Pearson officiating. Private interment will be in the Golden Cemetery in Golden, Texas. Mr. Ferguson passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2017 in Longview. The family will receive friends at Grace Fellowship Church on Tuesday from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m.

Mr. Ferguson was born on December 5, 1937 in Van, Texas to the late David Ernest Ferguson and Jewel High. Doyle graduated from Longview High School in 1956 and attended Kilgore College and graduated from Southwestern Assemblies of God University and was ordained in 1967. His years of active ministry include pastoring churches, Hallsville First Assembly of God for four years, Carthage First Assembly of God for ten years, Liberty City Assembly of God for ten years and White Oak First Assembly of God for 14 years and he also served on the Longview Sectional Committee for the Assemblies of God as Secretary-Treasurer for 41 years. He served in the US Army National Guard and enjoyed reading, fishing, painting on houses and his greatest passion was serving on the MAPS missions projects all over the United States . Mr. Ferguson was a loving and caring husband, father, brother and grandfather who will be dearly missed by all that knew him.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, of 54 years, Florine “Flo” Ferguson of Kilgore; daughter, Angela Rhoads and husband Tom of Kilgore; son, Vince Ferguson of Kilgore; grandchildren, Adam Rhoads and Sarah Rhoads; sisters, Muriel Hood of Mesquite, Texas and Jean Hassig and husband Jim of Longview; brothers, James W. Ferguson and wife Marjorie of Golden, Texas, Paul Ferguson and wife Delores of Gilmer and Wayne Ferguson and wife Carolyn of Cookville, Texas. Also, left to carry on his legacy are numerous nieces and nephews, friends and other loving family members.

Preceding him in death are his brother-in-law, Hulon Hood, Jr.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to Texas Oncology, Good Shepherd Medical Center 4th Floor and Heartsway Hospice and their staff for their loving and compassionate care for Mr. Ferguson during the final days of his earthly journey.
