Obituary

Y'Vonne Jones, a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and steadfast member of her community, passed away peacefully at her home in Liberty City on May 5, 2026. Born in Tyler on December 28, 1949, Y'Vonne lived a life full of dedication, kindness, and service to those she loved.

Y'Vonne retired after an admirable 34 years of service at the Region 7 Service Center, where her commitment and work ethic left a lasting impression. Equally devoted to her faith, she loved her Lord deeply and found joy in teaching the little children at church, faithfully serving her church home. Her passions extended beyond her spiritual commitments to a love of sewing, knitting, crocheting, camping, hiking, and all things outdoors. She also found great fulfillment in coaching T-Ball, sharing her enthusiasm and encouragement with young athletes.

Among her proudest accomplishments was her marriage to Pete L. Jones, her husband of 53 wonderful years. Their enduring partnership was a testament to love and companionship that shaped much of her life’s joy. Y'Vonne was known for the warmth she so freely gave through the best hugs and smiles she offered to everyone she knew.

Y'Vonne's family was the center of her world, and she loved them with all her heart. She is survived by her loving husband Peter “Pete” Jones of Liberty City; her children Jimmy Mobley and wife Meredith of Gilmer, Michelle Garza and husband Dale of Kilgore, Jennifer Sutton and husband James of Kilgore, and Megan Wilder and husband Cullen of White Oak. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren Lilly Dohanich and husband Alec, Trey Garza, Phillip Mobley and wife Ashley, Taylor Mobley and fiancé Moises Ortiz, Krystal Constant and husband Corvin, Hunter Stanley, Alexis Stanley, Clark Wilder, Alice Wilder, and Everett Wilder. Great-grandchildren Ryleigh Marshall, Remmi Garza, Rowyn Garza, Eliza Mobley, Isaac Mobley, Ethan Dohanich, and Sophia Constant also carry forward her spirit. She was beloved by a host of other family and friends who will deeply miss her presence.

Y'Vonne was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Neva Marlin, and her brothers, George and Phillip Marlin, whose memory she treasured.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the North Loop Church of Christ, located at 1000 NE Loop 485, Gladewater, Texas. Following the visitation, a memorial service will commence at 2:00 PM in the same location. Family, friends, and all who knew Y'Vonne are invited to join in honoring her remarkable life and legacy.

Y'Vonne Jones's remarkable spirit, her unwavering love for family and faith, and her joyful approach to life will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be remembered with deep affection, respect, and gratitude for the warmth and light she brought into the lives of others.
