Service for Winona Lyda Hamilton Hightower, 82, of Kilgore will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2021, at two o’clock in the afternoon at Danville Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore from six till eight o’clock in the evening. Mrs. Hightower passed away on Tuesday 24, 2021 at her home in Kilgore.

Winona Lyda Hamilton Hightower was born on July 15, 1939, in Norman, Arkansas to Mildred Irene Carter and John Bird Hamilton. She married the love of her life Robert Reece Hightower on December 24, 1960, in Hugo, Oklahoma. They shared four children and 58 wonderful years of marriage together. She was a dedicated member of Eastview Church of God for many years. Winona worked in the cafeteria at Kilgore High School for over twenty years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.

Winona was reunited with her parents, husband, son, Floyd Hightower, and many brothers and sisters.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Dewayne Hightower and wife Tracey, Ernest Hightower, daughter, Sheila Hightower, grandchildren Vince Baty of Kilgore, Cheyenne Hightower of Oklahoma, Damien Howard of Lubbock, Amanda and Austin Cook, Kourtney and Gabe Pawlak, and Kolton Blair of Kilgore; great grandchildren, Maelynn Baty, Adalynn Baty, Briella Pawlak, and Jackson Cook of Kilgore; and numerous friends and family members who will miss her dearly.
