William L. Berryhill

August 26, 1960 — September 26, 2025

Kilgore, Texas

William Lee Berryhill was born August 26, 1960, in Overton, TX, and passed away on September 26, 2025 at his home in Kilgore, TX at the age of 65. A man of unwavering integrity and boundless compassion, William lived a life defined by honor, purpose, and a deep commitment to those he loved and the causes he cherished.

For 40 years, William shared a devoted and loving marriage with his wife, Kellie Berryhill, whose partnership was the cornerstone of his life. Together, they raised two children, Sarah Michelle and Jeremy Ray, whom he loved fiercely and supported with steadfast dedication.

William and Kellie shared a passion for travel that enriched their lives and deepened their bond. Together, they explored breathtaking destinations, from the coasts of Ireland to the majestic mountains of Colorado. Each trip was an adventure filled with laughter, discovery, and quiet moments of connection. Whether they were savoring local cuisines, strolling through historic towns, or simply marveling at a sunset together. These journeys were a testament to their shared love for experiencing the world’s beauty, creating memories that Kellie will forever hold dear.

William’s pride in watching Jeremy achieve the rank of Eagle Scout was a testament to his deep connection to the Boy Scouts of America, an organization he passionately supported and believed in for its values of leadership and service. He cherished the quality time he spent with Jeremy during scouting activities, from camping under starlit skies to tackling challenging merit badge projects together. Those moments, filled with lessons in teamwork, perseverance, and integrity, forged an unbreakable bond between father and son

William’s love for the outdoors was a defining part of his time on earth. He found solace and adventure in nature, whether hiking through rugged trails, riding four wheelers along scenic paths, or capturing the beauty of the world through his lens as an avid outdoor photographer. His hikes were not just physical journeys, but moments of reflection, where he connected deeply with the landscapes he cherished.

William was also immensely proud of his daughter, Sarah, whose passion for music brought joy to his life. Sarah, a violinist and pianist, filled their home with melodies that resonated with her father’s heart. William never missed one of Sarah’s concerts, always sitting in the audience with a beaming smile.

William was a man of many facets, described by those who knew him as honorable, steadfast, tenacious, persnickety, meticulous, compassionate, and a true humanitarian. His meticulous nature and tenacious spirit shone through in his commitment to the “Church in a Day program”, where he poured his heart into helping build churches, and strengthening communities through faith and fellowship. His jovial demeanor brought warmth and laughter to every gathering, and his compassionate, humanitarian outlook touched countless lives.

William’s greatest joy was being “Pappy” to his grandchildren, Addison and Emerson, whom he adored with all his heart. His days were filled with laughter and love as he played Outsmarted and chess with Addison, delighting in her clever moves and sharing his wisdom with every game. With Emerson, he engaged in spirited Nerf gun battles, turning their home into a playful battlefield where his mischievous spirit shone. These moments of connection, filled with strategy, fun, and boundless affection, were treasures that defined his role as a devoted and cherished “Pappy”.

An avid golfer, William found joy and camaraderie on the fairways, where he forged unbreakable bonds with a group of men who became his dearest friends. Their shared passion for the game was a source of endless stories, laughter, and memories.

William is survived by his beloved wife, Kellie; his children, Jeremy Berryhill, Sarah Wright, and son-in-law Andrew Wright; his grandchildren, Addison and Emerson Wright; and a wide circle of friends and family who will forever carry his legacy of kindness and purpose.
