Wiley Richard Lowe, affectionately known as "Rick," passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026, at his residence in Kilgore. Born on June 22, 1948, in Hobbs, New Mexico, Rick lived a life marked by dedication, service, and deep love for his family.
A graduate of Hardin Jefferson High School in 1966 in Sour Lake, Texas. Rick went on to serve honorably in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. His commitment to his country was mirrored in his devotion to his hometown, where he worked for many years for the City of Beaumont. Rick's leadership extended to his role as Vice President of the Sabine Volunteer Fire Department, in addition to his public service, he was a skilled master carpenter.
Rick's personality was often defined by his profound love for his sons and the joy he found in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid outdoorsman, passionate about hunting, camping, farming, raising cattle, and canoeing.
He is survived by his beloved sons: Wiley Richard Lowe II, Ike Lowe, Ned Lowe, and Jondavid Lowe, along with Jondavid’s wife, Felicia and the boys loving mother Sandra Lowe. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren Shealyn Griffin, Knox Lowe, and Rose I. Ray. His siblings, Dorothy Blanchard and her husband Herman, Diann Griner and her husband Rickey, Delana Horn and her husband William, as well as Raymond Lowe and his wife Tess, and Kenneth Lowe and his wife Sue, also survive him. Rick was surrounded by numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family members who cherished him dearly.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Wiley Cecil Lowe and Juanita Anderson, and his brother Ronny Lowe.
Wiley Richard Lowe will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to service, his craftsmanship, and most of all, for the love and dedication he showed to his family. He will be profoundly missed and fondly remembered. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Rader Funeral Home and no services are scheduled at this time.
