Tonie Gayle Taylor, born on December 24, 1959, in Plainview, Texas, passed away peacefully at her residence in Kilgore on October 4, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was a dedicated hairdresser, sharing her skills and passion with many throughout her years of service.
Her notable accomplishments include being the High School Rodeo Runner Up Rookie of the Year. She enjoyed various activities such as riding steers, barrel racing, and rodeo pole bending.
Tonie cherished being with her family, making beautiful memories, and especially loved spending time with her grandkids. Her caring nature was evident in everything she did, always helping her loved ones and family members.
Her hobbies included gardening, riding horses, and reading her Bible, all reflective of her nurturing personality. She loved going treasure hunting and searching for arrowheads.
Tonie is survived by her daughter, Chasidy and husband Mike Shockey of Dumas; her parents, Loyd and Loretta Couch of Kilgore; her brother, Slim and wife Cheryl Couch of Goodwell, Ok; as well as her grandchildren, Mason and Jill. Nieces: Tristan Couch, Kristena Foks, Kari Jo Blickenstaff. Nephew: Chad Couch. Many aunts, uncles, great nieces & nephews and cousins. And many friends. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Karen Sue Couch and Darla Denise Folks.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025, at Danville Cemetery, County Road 2452 Kilgore, Texas 75662, starting at 10:00 AM with Rev. Glenn Cobb officiating. Tonie will be remembered for her love, kindness, and the joy she brought to everyone around her.
