Terry Lane Britt, 75 of Uncertain, Texas, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2026 in White Oak. Terry was born in Dubach, Louisiana on May 12, 1951. He was the only child of Calvin and Mary Britt. He was avidly involved in scouting throughout his childhood and earned the highest rank of Eagle Scout. He graduated from Kilgore High School in 1970. Furthered his education at Kilgore College earning his associates degree.

After college Terry gained employment with Mobil oil and worked his way up to Production Foreman of the Gulf Coast. He worked in the oil and gas industry until late 1997 at which time he retired. He married Sharon Britt on June 26, 1974.

They were married for 22 years and had three children, Melanie, Kimberly and Kristy. They raised their children throughout north & south Texas. In 1985 settled in Beaumont where he remained until 1995. He then moved to Northeast Texas to his favorite place “Caddo Lake”. Terry had a love for fishing, hunting and traveling along with attending any sporting events of his grandchildren. His family was his top priority and loved spending time with his parents, children and grandchildren. He was a man of many talents; he served his community in many ways through volunteering and involvement with The Church of Uncertain and the Masonic Lodge. Terry was surrounded by his loving community, and he built lasting relationships over his lifetime.

He is survived by daughters, Melanie Smith of Evadale, Texas, Kimberly Starr of White Oak and Kristy Gothard and husband Jeremie of Gladewater; grandchildren, Dylan Smith, Lanie Smith, Devyn Smith, Dayne Smith, Maddox Starr, Taylor Gothard, Tanner Gothard and Trevor Gothard and two great grandchildren, Daymon Smith and Camilla Smith as well as other loving family members.

Terry was preceded in death by his wife Sharon Britt. Both of his parents Calvin and Mary Britt and son-in-law David Smith.

Visitation will be held at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. A service will be held at Rader Funeral Home on Wednesday August 5, 2026, at 2 :00 pm with Brother John Gradberg officiating.
