Tammy Cubine Akin, 61, of Kilgore passed away on Thursday August 20, 2020 at her home in Overton. Tammy’s wishes were to be cremated and the family is planning a gathering for a later date.

Tammy was born on March 28, 1959 in Kilgore to Gerald Cubine and Joyce Cubine. She earned her BSN from UT Tyler and then went to work for years for Cooley & DeBakey heart specialists in Houston. Tammy was a beautiful woman inside and out and was a past Miss Gregg County winner. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her mother and grandmother; Jewel Reed.

Tammy is survived by her daughters; Jenifer Cubine and husband Ronnie Smith of Kilgore and Alicen Akin of Longview, two grandchildren Ashlynn and Ronni Smith both of Kilgore; her dad, Gerald Cubine of Kilgore, brother; Jerry Cubine and wife Karla of Kilgore, two sisters; Sharon Whitfield and husband Jim of Rockwall and Debbie Isaacks of Arp, niece; Jessica Baker of Arp, nephews; Jacob Isaacks of Arizona, Zachary Isaacks of Troup, Trey and Kaleb Cubine both of Kilgore, and JR and Tadd Whitfield both of Rockwall.
