Stanley Ray Davis

May 7, 1953 — February 14, 2024

Stanley Ray Davis, 70, of Kilgore went home to the Lord on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, from his residence in Kilgore, Texas. Stanley was born May 7, 1953 in Gilmer, Texas to Isaiah Martin Davis and Lizzie Clota Caldwell Davis. He was raised in the community of East Mountain. Stanley married the love of his life, Pamela Louise Stark on October 3, 1970, in Longview and together they shared 53 years of marriage and raised their two beautiful daughters.

Stanley was an avid nature lover and outdoorsman. He loved spending vacations camping with his family where he would disappear for hours hiking and searching for arrowheads on a nearby trail, as he was fascinated with Native American history and culture. Mr. Davis was a proud member of the NRA and was an avid gun enthusiast. He was a talented musician, he played drums at venues throughout the East Texas area. Stanley was a hardworking man, he was employed at Crosby Lebus in Longview as a fork lift operator for 45 years. He was a devoted Christian and enjoyed serving the Lord through music, serving on the praise and worship teams at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church and First Baptist Church for many years.

In passing, Stanley was reunited with his parents, his brother Harold, and his sister, Billie Jean Holland, all of East Mountain.

Left to cherish Stanley’s memory are his devoted wife of 53 years, Pamela Louise Davis, two daughters; Athena Pond & husband Eric of Tatum, and Angela Byrd of Kilgore; two grandchildren, Nikke Knapp and husband Jonathan of Tatum, and Sierra Byrd of Kilgore; two great grandchildren; Lynnlee Martin and Jackson Knapp of Tatum, two nieces; Becky Jeanne Winters and husband Robert Milton of Gilmer, Brenda Jolene Ray and husband Robert of Gladewater, and many nieces and nephews. Stanley was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who have had the pleasure of knowing him.

His family will receive visitors at his visitation on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, from five until seven o’clock in the evening at Rader Funeral Home.
