Stanley was the beloved son of the late George Michael Peters, Jr. and Martha Elizabeth Meinrath Peters. He is survived by his brothers, Mike Peters and wife Glenda and Steve Peters and wife Lissa. Stan’s caring nature also touched his nieces and nephew: Sarah Van Trees and her husband Tommy, Melissa Fife and her husband Chad, Jason Parker and his wife Jessie, and great niece Sylvie Van Trees as well as many other loving family, church family, neighbors and friends.
Stanley's life was characterized by unwavering kindness, humility, and a willingness to serve others. Stan never knew a stranger, his welcoming presence, kindness and thoughtfulness immediately put people at ease. He was known for his accommodating spirit and selfless desire to help those in need, never once uttering a negative word about anyone. His life was a testament to generosity and acceptance.
An exemplary member of the community, Stanley was a devout Christian who faithfully attended Christ the King Catholic Church. There, he found deep fulfillment both in worship and through service, actively participating in church activities and finding camaraderie within the Church Men's Group. His deep faith anchored his actions, and he approached each day with a true servant’s heart.
Stan’s professional life was spent with dedication as a Research Technician for the Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center in Overton, Texas. He applied both skill and passion to his work, continuously inspired by the land and how best to care for it. Stanley earned his degree in Agronomy from Texas A & M University, building a foundation of knowledge and expertise that served him well and enriched the agricultural community. During his tenure at Texas A&M, Stanley set university weightlifting records on his way to winning a national championship in Powerlifting.
Beyond his career, Stanley lived with simplicity and intentionality. He was a proud member of the Organic Gardening Club and strived to live naturally off the land as much as possible—a pursuit that brought him joy and purpose. Frugal by nature, Stan’s life focused not on possessions, but on meaningful experiences and the joys of stewardship. He delighted in collecting things, but his true wealth was always found in the relationships he nurtured and the good he did for others.
