Graveside services were held on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at the Hickory Grove Cemetery with Mr. Kelly Poe officiating. Mr. Bonds passed away at his home on Wednesday, January 26, 2022.
Stanley was born on April 9, 1944, in Kilgore. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Kilgore. Stanley attended and graduated from Kilgore High School. Stanley later attended Texas A&M University where he earned his bachelors and master’s degrees. Stanley retired from Mobil Oil as a pipeline supervisor. After his retirement, Stanley embarked on his second career as a teacher. He taught Agriculture, Science and Chemistry at both Whitehouse ISD, Kilgore ISD and Bradshaw State Jail, he truly loved to teach. He enjoyed going fishing, reading, and loved math.
Stanley is survived by his wife of 40 years, Carol Bonds of Kilgore; children, Wendy Daigle and husband Casey of Beaumont, Heather Sale and husband Lee of Midland, and Dr. John Bonds and wife, Amanda of Carrollton; adopted son, Skip Stanger of Kilgore; grandchildren, Cole Wagamen, Hannah Greenberg, Jack Bonds, Maggie Bonds, Marry Ann Bonds, and Lucy Bonds; mother-in-law, Abbie Smith of Kilgore; aunt, Pat Props and husband Billy of Henderson; along with other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Imogene Vanderburg, brother, Norman Bonds, and grandparents, Myrtle and Carless Bonds.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in his name to the Longview Animal Care and Adoption Center, P.O. Box 1952, Longview, TX 75606
