Sandra "Sandy" Clifford was born on December 18, 1947, in Germany to Woodrow and Jeannette Nelson. She passed away peacefully at her home in Kilgore on June 11, 2026.

Sandy’s life was full of love and dedication. In June 1964, she married Curtis Foster Clifford Jr., the love of her life. They shared 48 wonderful years together. Sandy and Curtis raised four children—two boys and two girls—and their family was the center of her world.

Sandy worked for 33 years as an orthodontic assistant at Sherman and Briscoe Orthodontics in Longview, Texas. Her commitment to her job mirrored her devotion to her family and friends.

She cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. At the time of her passing, Sandy was survived by her children: Clay and his wife Tishanna of Liberty City, Chad and his wife Dana of Liberty City, Cheri Peek of Kilgore, and Chandra and her husband Kenneth Robins of Kilgore. Her brother, Woody Nelson of Lewisville, also remains. Sandy was a proud grandmother to 14 grandchildren and a loving great-grandmother to 13 great-grandchildren.

Sandy was preceded in death by her beloved husband Curtis F. Clifford Jr., who died on June 24, 2015; her parents, Woodrow and Jeannette Nelson; her brother Johnny Nelson; and her son-in-law Ricky Peek.

Sandy was a devoted wife, mother, nana, daughter, sister, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on June 20, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Rader Funeral Home, located at 401 N Martin St, Kilgore, Texas. All who knew Sandy are welcome to come and share in remembering her remarkable life.
