Ronald Everett
Gulley
May 30, 1941 – April 13, 2026
Ronald Everett Gulley, a devoted public servant and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2026, in Mount Pleasant, Texas. Born on May 30, 1941, in Kilgore, Texas, Ronald, affectionately known as Ronnie, lived a life marked by quiet strength, unwavering loyalty, and a steadfast commitment to those around him.
Ronnie was a proud graduate of Kilgore High School’s Class of 1959, where his unique spirit earned him the nickname "Lone Ranger." Unlike many of his peers, he was content to follow his own path, embracing a quiet, independent nature that stood out among the crowd. His friends remember him as friendly and approachable—always ready to lend a helping hand without expectation. This trait defined his character throughout his life.
Furthering his education, Ronald earned a bachelor’s degree from Stephen F. Austin State University, a testament to his dedication and ambition. He dedicated much of his career to government service, contributing in several capacities before his well-earned retirement. His work, though often behind the scenes, embodied a deep sense of responsibility and commitment to the community he served.
Ronald’s personal life was one of love and connection, though marked by the sorrow of loss in later years. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Wanda Lee Gulley; his mother, Maye Steward Gulley; his father, B. E. Gulley; and his sister, Carol Jean Gulley. Their memories carried with him the foundation of family and the values he held dear.
Ronnie leaves behind a wide circle of classmates and longtime friends who treasured his quiet companionship and dependable presence. Among them are Mike Conner and Vickie Gard, who, along with many others, were fortunate to know the genuine warmth and kindness that Ronnie so freely gave.
As we remember Ronald Everett Gulley, we honor a man who lived true to himself and whose gentle spirit quietly touched the lives of those privileged to know him. His legacy is one of dedication, kindness, and a steadfast commitment to doing what made him—and those around him—happy.
Ronald’s journey on this earth may have concluded, but the imprint of his life will endure in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were blessed to walk beside him. May he rest in peace, remembered with the deepest respect and affection.
A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date for friends to reflect on the relationships they shared with Ronnie.
