Ron Buckrell


Ron Buckrell, 78, of Kilgore, completed his earthly journey on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, in Kilgore. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021, at 2 pm, in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore, with Rev. David Hampton officiating. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at Rusk County Memorial Gardens in Henderson.

Ron was born on June 5, 1943, in Burgessville, Ontario, Canada, to Philip and Gwendolyn Buckrell. He graduated from the Norwich District High School. Ron then attended LeTourneau College in Longview. He was a self-employed heavy equipment operator until his retirement. Ron enjoyed working on heavy equipment, running bulldozers and backhoes. He loved horses, and animals. His family, especially his grandkids, were the source of his strength and spending time with them was when he was happiest.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, of 45 years, Linda Buckrell of Kilgore; son, Christopher Buckrell and his wife Kristi of White Oak; grandchildren, Ambrey and Lainey Buckrell; sister in law Sandra Butts and her husband George Butts of Kilgore; nieces and nephews, Scott Buckrell and his wife Elizabeth, Geoff Buckrell and his wife Lisa, Janice Graham and her husband Tony all of Canada, Shannon Thompson and wife Allyson of Kilgore, Lacy Latham and husband of Kilgore. Also, left to carry on his legacy are numerous great nieces and nephews, cousins, friends, and other loving family members.

Ron was reunited with his parents, brother LeRoy Buckrell and aunt Marguerite Hill.
