Rollie “David” Lewis, 81, of Kilgore completed his earthly adventure at his home with his beloved family by his side on May 10, 2024. His family will receive guests at Rader Funeral Home on Friday, May 24 from five until seven o’clock in the evening. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
David was born December 13, 1942, in Kilgore, TX to Jack Lewis and Jolene Clack Lewis. After high school, he enlisted in the Army and served in the National Guard. He worked in the oil field and later in the transportation industry until his retirement. Following his passion for music, he played in a band called “Shadows” where he made many lifelong friends. He enjoyed creating music and performing for others to enjoy. In addition to music, David enjoyed drawing, gardening, boating, restoring classic cars, model airplanes, and completed ground school for pilots.
In passing, David is reunited with his parents, sister Anne Marie, and brother Michael Lewis.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Virginia Lewis, his sister Judy Dukes, children; Lisa Collins Allan, Deanna Allen, Tony Drew and Jeff Drew, seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, numerous extended family members, and beloved pets Lilly, Tinkerbell, and Jaycee.
The family would like to thank Heart to Heart Hospice nurse Tess, aide Josie, and staff for their care and compassion for David.
