Richard Holleman
Services at the graveside for Richard Holleman, 78, of Henderson will be held on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at 1 pm in the Danville Cemetery with Bro. Ted White officiating. The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore on Monday evening from 5:30 until 8. Richard completed his earthly journey in his home surrounded by his family on Friday, March 19, 2021.
Richard was born on May 4, 1942 in Texarkana, Tx to Joseph and Mildred Holleman. After moving to Kilgore with his family Richard, attended Kilgore public schools. During his working years he owned Too Cold’s Trading Post and then went to work for D & D Swabbing until his retirement. He was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church. He also served on the school board for Leverett’s Chapel Independent School District for 17 years. Richard enjoyed fishing, attending auctions, working cows and riding horses. His family was the source of his strength and spending time with them was when he was happiest. Richard had a huge impact on his community, he helped raise many young people who were in need of someone to mentor and help them. He always treated them as if they were his very own. He had a huge love for people and will be greatly missed for his caring and compassion.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 26 years, Judy Holleman of Henderson; children Doug Smith (Judy) of Palestine, Ricky Holleman ( DeAnn) of Lake Cherokee, Rhonda Foster (Tony) of Waskom, Rene’ Marler ( Clif) of Kilgore; grandchildren, Kristene Newton (Jack), Sheena Jackson, Derek Smith (Lana), Levi Smith, Lance Holleman ( Angela), Josh Holleman (Monique), Daniel Foster (Crystal) Jacob Foster, Jacqueline Manning ( Jake), Tye Haire, Gage Marler; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Jayden, Keylon, Sha’Nya, Jerymiah, Derrion, Zach, Rylan, Kash, Aniston, Gage, Cannon, Kylar, Cooper, Ella, Kaysen; brother, Arthur “Skip” Holleman; niece, Anna Holleman. Also, left to carry on his legacy are numerous, friends, and other loving family members.
Richard was reunited with his parents and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation and heartfelt thanks to the staff of Primecare Hospice for their compassionate and loving care of Richard during the final days of his earthly journey.
