Richard C. Henley

Kilgore

Richard C. Henley, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, was born on March 7, 1946, in Pasadena, Texas. His journey through life came to a close on November 8, 2025, in Longview, Texas, yet the impact of his love and kindness will resonate deeply in the hearts of those who knew him.

Richard dedicated over 40 years of his life to his work, proudly owning and operating Basin Remodeling, where he poured his energy and passion into crafting beautiful spaces for the community. After a remarkable career, he embraced retirement, cherishing the opportunity to spend more time with his loved ones and to enjoy his hobbies. A member of the First Baptist Church in Kilgore, Richard's faith was an essential part of his life, guiding him and shaping his values.

Known for his generous spirit and unwavering love, Richard cherished his family above all else. He was a devoted husband to Brenda Henley, his partner of 32 years, sharing countless joys and challenges during their beautiful life together. As a father, he took immense pride in his children, Mark (Donna) Laurent and Amy (Nicklas Waltermire) Owens. Always at his side was his brother and dear friend, Sam Henley. His legacy continued through his grandchildren: Rob (Karen) Hornyak, Tammy Spedoski, and Samantha Laurent (Jimi Lee) James, as well as his great-grandchildren, Tyler (Allie) Martinez, Nathaniel (Ally) Hornyak, Alyssa Hornyak, Anthony (Camryn) Gonzalez, Joseph Laurent James, and Kayli Laurent James. The newest addition to this cherished family is his great-great-grandchild, Malia Martinez, whose laughter and presence will surely remind them of Richard's joyful spirit.

Fishing on the lake and wood working were two of Richard's favorite pastimes, where he found peace and enjoyed moments of solitude and reflection. The gentle rhythm of the water and the satisfaction of creating beautiful wood pieces were not just hobbies; they were deeply interwoven parts of his life that brought him happiness.

Sadly, as Richard leaves this world, he joins his parents, Clyde Henley and Lucille King, along with siblings Bill Henley, Linda Lou Short, and Robert "Bobby" Henley, and his stepfather, Alvin Hoseking, in eternal rest. Their memories will be sources of comfort to his surviving family, who will carry forward his spirit and lessons of love.

Richard Henley will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him. His legacy of love, family, and craftsmanship will live on, a gentle reminder of the warmth he brought into the lives of so many.
