Owen Shannon Thompson

Owen Shannon Thompson passed peacefully in the arms of his loving parents on July 26, 2025. Owen was born on July 16, 2025, at UT Southwestern Clements Hospital, in Dallas, Texas. During his ten short days here on Earth, he touched many lives and was deeply loved by his parents, family, and friends. He was a miracle from God and the biggest blessing. Owen is the son of Cole and Ashlyn Thompson of Overton, Texas. His paternal grandparents are Shannon and Allyson Thompson of Overton, Texas, and his maternal grandparents are Danny and Katy LeBaron of Nederland, Texas.

Cole and Ashlyn are forever grateful to all the doctors, nurses, and medical team at UT Southwestern Clements Hospital, who provided comfort and care during Owen’s time in the NICU. Their kindness and support meant the world to his parents and family.

Although our time with Owen was far too brief, Cole and Ashlyn have peace knowing that he will spend eternity with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. His parents find comfort in knowing they will see him again. “Someday I will go to him, but he will not return to me.” 2 Samuel 12:23

Cole and Ashlyn would be thankful for flowers or plants in memory of Owen, but would also be grateful if you considered donating to UT Southwestern Medical Center or the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas in honor of Owen.

A funeral service for all family and friends to attend will be held at Highland Park Baptist Church, in Kilgore, Texas, at 10:00 am on August 2, 2025. There will be a burial following the service for the family to attend at the Thompson Family Cemetery in Overton, Texas.
