Oris "Woody" Woods

Funeral services for Mr. Oris “Woody” Woods; 91, of Danville, Arkansas formerly of Kilgore will be held on Friday, August 21, 2020 at 1:00 p.m.in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore with Daniel Morris officiating. Burial will follow in the Kilgore Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday. Mr. Woods passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2020 in Danville, Arkansas.

Woody was born on February 11, 1929 in Brooks, Texas, he was the son of the late James Walter and Alma Woods. Mr. Woods graduated from Mt. Enterprise High School in 1946, where he was on the basketball team. He attended Kilgore College. Mr. Woods married his late wife Gwynette on October 28, 1951. Woody was a longtime member of Kilgore First Baptist Church. He served his country in the United States Army National Guard for three years and retired as store manager of York Pump in Kilgore. Woody enjoyed playing golf.

He is survived by his daughters, Amy Seelbach of Henderson and Stacy Wallace and husband, Marty of Longview; sister-in-law, Sue Reed of Dallas; brother-in-law, Don Satcher and wife Esther of Longview; grandchildren, Jenny Watson and husband Steve, Rebecca Sears and husband Jarod, Corey Partain and wife Kim, Adrienne Seelbach, Nathaniel Seelbach, Hannah Seelbach, Daniel Morris and wife Kayla, Sarah Morris, and Taylor Wallace; 15 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Mr. Woods was preceded in death by his parents, James and Alma Woods; wife, Gwynette; grandson, Matthew Morris; brothers, James Ezelle Woods and J.W. Woods; sister, Mozelle Johnson.
