Ollie Ree
Alexander
Jul 9, 1947 — Jul 15, 2026
Kilgore
Ollie Ree Alexander, affectionately known as “The Old Buzzard” by his favorite niece Lora Cutherbertson, finally decided to pass away on July 15, 2026.
Thursday, July 23, the family will host a noon meal at the Alexander family home followed by a memorial service at Rock Springs at 1:30 to celebrate Ollie’s life. As he would quip, “If you can’t come, call!”
A beloved father to 3 children, Christi, Amanda, and David, having a special bond with each, yet only Amanda got a race car. He was a dad who always had helpful advice weather you wanted it or not. A brother to 5 sisters, uncle to 12, grandfather to 5 great grandfather to 6. Ollie loved his wife Cheryl Alexander, spending his last years poking fun at her and enjoying her “great cooking”
Ollie’s career spanned over 25 years at Crosby in Longview, where he retired as a Boilermaker. He always told his children “I started here just sweeping the floors!!” which was just another testament to his dedication and work ethic.
His circle was small yet filled with immense love. Thanksgiving was his favorite time to gather those he treasured most. His passions included his cherished 1970s Road Runner, MMA, and his computers. Ollie was a quick-witted individual that you surely didn’t want to be around if you were gullible. As he would say about his car, “If I was not laying under it…”
As we bid farewell, we honor not just a father but a legend who lives on through the legacy he created. Rest in peace, Ollie. Your spirit and stories endure forever.
