Murphy Everett Ponthieux

Services for Murphy Ponthieux, 82, of Kilgore will be held 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 2, 2020 at Rader Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mike Gribble officiating. Mr. Ponthieux passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2020 in Kilgore.

Mr. Ponthieux was born on February 23, 1938 in Glenmora, Louisiana to the late P. Ponthieux and Bernice Melder. He served in the US Air Force and worked in the Oil and Gas field for many years. He enjoyed music, bowling, playing golf and car shows and spending time with his family. Mr. Ponthieux was a loving and caring husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather who will be missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Phyllis Theriot, grandson, Clint Warren and sister, Gene Marnien.

Mr. Ponthieux is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary Ponthieux of Kilgore; daughters, Karla Cubine and husband Jerry of Kilgore, Delores Bueno of Longview, Paula Hooper of Houston, Kim Johnson and husband Steve of Dallas and Kina Rhea Strickland of Irving; brother, Sam Ponthieux and wife Muriel of Sulphur, Louisiana; grandchildren, Jessica Wheeler, Adrian Bueno, Trey Cubine, Kaleb Cubine, Matthew Warren, Keith Strickland and Kristen Ballard and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members.
