Michael "Mike" Lane Guthrie, a beloved figure in the Kilgore community, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2026, at the age of 64. Born on November 17, 1961, in Kilgore, Texas, Mike dedicated his life to both his family and his profession, working diligently for various oilfield companies throughout his career.

Mike was known for his hardworking and dependable nature, traits that endeared him to many. He was confident and firm in his beliefs, qualities that forged meaningful relationships and left an indelible mark on those who knew him. His spirit found fulfillment in a variety of hobbies and interests. He cherished spending time around a fire, sharing stories and laughter with family and friends. Others fondly remember his skill with a pool cue, his passion for cooking and grilling, and his love for traveling, especially to Crystal Beach. Additionally, Mike’s green thumb was evident in his commitment to gardening and maintaining his yard, showcasing his appreciation for the beauty of nature.

Family was at the core of Mike's life, and he took immense joy in the presence of his grandchildren. He is survived by his daughter, Allison Guthrie; his son, Daniel Blake Guthrie-Stokes, and his wife, Jessica; He also leaves behind his life companion, Julie Berkenmeier, along with bonus children Shala Daniels, Tiffany Hernandez, and Keith Daniels and his wife, Amanda, as well as Treston Holliman. The joy of Mike's life can be seen in the smiles of his grandchildren, Casyn Durham and Aubri Durham, as well as his numerous bonus grandchildren: Layton, Rhilee, Braden, Donovan, Devan, Bradley, Kilali, and Briar. Mike is further survived by his sister, Tina Henry; his brother, Darren Guthrie., nieces and nephews Morgan, Christian, Cody, Al, and Amber, and Casey along with many other loving family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Preceding Mike in death are his parents Cletis and Elaine Guthrie.

A Celebration of Life will be held on January 14, 2026, at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore, Texas, starting at 2:00 PM and concluding at 3:00 PM. The family invites all whose lives were touched by Mike to join in honoring his memory and sharing stories of the profound impact he had on each of us.
