Mary Copeland Howell

Funeral services for Mary Copeland Howell, 74, of Kilgore will be held on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at 10:00 A.M. in the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Earl Brown officiating. Burial will follow at the Kilgore Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Mrs. Howell passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2021.

Mary was born on September 5, 1947, in Atlanta, Texas. She was the daughter of the late James “Jelly” and Mary Copeland. Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and housewife. She worked at the Sabine Independent School District for 20 years and later work at the EZ Mart. Mary was a caregiver, giving her heart to so many people. She loved her family and especially her grandbabies. Mary enjoyed watching Steve Harvey on the Family Feud, watching karaoke, and playing cards. She loved being surrounded by her loved ones.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, of 45 years, Richard Howell; son, Ronnie Howell; great-grandson, Aden Spain-Honaker; sisters, Dixie Barnes, and Ada Stephens; brothers, Ronnie Copeland, and Jimmy Lee Terry.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Sue Ann Howell of Kilgore, Larry Don Howell and wife Laura of Winona, Richard “Bubba Howell and wife, Laura of Overton, Kimberly Ortiz and husband Jose of Kilgore, Debbie Petty of Kilgore, Marchale Glasco and husband David of Kilgore, Ricky Howell and wife Tonya of Kilgore; sisters, Sue Ford and Dolly Hendrix and husband Mike; 22 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and other family.
