Martin Charles Watson, born on March 6, 1951, in Henderson, Texas, passed away on June 3, 2026, in Oklahoma.

Martin was a proud graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School in Dallas in 1969 and in 1976, he completed his bachelor’s degree in Industrial Arts at North Texas State University.

In his professional life, Martin began his career with Kilgore ISD, taught at Kilgore College and later devoted many years to LeTourneau University, where his commitment to education and community made a significant difference until his well-deserved retirement.

He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast, often found riding and embracing the sense of freedom that came with it. His time in the shop was equally treasured, where he found fulfillment and joy working with his hands.

Above all, Martin’s most cherished role was that of a devoted husband and family man. On October 3, 1998, he married the love of his life, Barbara, beginning a 27-year partnership filled with loyalty, warmth, and unwavering companionship.

He leaves behind his beloved wife Barbara Watson; biological daughter Jody Reed and her husband Charles; stepdaughters Brandi Farmer and her husband Robby, and Alisha Griffith and her husband Mike; and his brother Phillip Watson and numerous grandchildren. Martin was predeceased by his parents, Phillip Stroud Watson and Victoria Charlsie Penney.

Martin Charles Watson’s memory will be honored at a Celebration of Life on August 1, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., held at Hidden Timbers Lakeside Venue, 13384 N County Road 293, Kilgore, Texas 75662. Family, friends, and all who were touched by Martin’s kindness and spirit are invited to join in a gathering of remembrance, reflection, and gratitude.

As we say farewell to Martin, we are comforted by the legacy he leaves behind—a legacy defined by integrity, generosity, and deep devotion to those he loved. May he be remembered always with affection and respect.
