Martha Cynthia Bond

September 24, 1944 — November 29, 2023

Martha Cynthia Gordon Bond, was born in Biloxi, MS, Sept, 24, 1944, to Martha Eloise Halford and McCallister Gordon, Jr. As a toddler, she moved with her parents to Tuscon, Arizona, later El Paso, TX, then on to Kilgore, TX, where she attended Kindergarten through 4th grade.

In the summer of 1955, her family moved to Jackson, MS, where she attended Davis Elementary, Bailey Jr. High School and Murrah High School, graduating in 1962. Always a strong student with interests in writing and music, she played clarinet in the band, both concert and marching. The piano lessons she took from an early age through high school served her well, and the piano was her constant companion. She began composing music and writing poetry in high school.

Cynthia attended Mississippi State College for Women and graduated from Belhaven College. She later received a Master’s degree in English.

After living in Plano, TX, then near Colorado Springs, CO, she moved with her family to NH for much of her adult life. Although she returned to East TX in later years, she spoke fondly and frequently of the beauty and culture of her adopted state of NH.

While in NH, Cynthia was a writer for the “Business New Hampshire” Magazine. After returning to Texas, she wrote a column, “Kilgoround” and was the Topics Editor for the “Kilgore News Herald.” In addition, she played piano and organ for churches in both locations.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents and step-father, Henry Allen Jepson. She is survived by her four children: daughter Janette Bond Milmoe (Robert) and grandchildren, Megan Milmoe McKinley (Patrick) and Ryan Milmoe, all of League City, TX; daughter, Tonya Bond Morse, Antrim, NH, and grandchildren, Timothy Piper, Milford, PA, and granddaughter, Bethany Virgle Corigliano (Joseph) and great-grandchildren, Piper Isabelle and Benjamin Virgle Joseph, all of Washington, New Hampshire; son,Travis Jepson Bond (Sarah) and daughters McKayla, Alayna, Rachel, Sadie, and Faith, Medway, MA; and daughter, Ashly Andraea Bond, Raleigh, NC.
