Marion L. "Bert" Shelley, 89, a cherished brother, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in Henderson on March 6, 2026, at the age of 89. Born on February 1, 1937, in Shreveport, Louisiana, Bert was a hardworking man whose dedication to his family was evident in all that he did.
Throughout his life, Bert enjoyed a successful career in the trucking business, where his commitment and work ethic earned him the respect of many. He was not only recognized for his professional achievements but also for his roles as a great husband, father, and brother. Bert took immense pride in his family, making sure that love and support were always present in their lives.
Bert had a passion for fishing and golfing, activities that allowed him to spend time outdoors and create lasting memories with those he loved. He expressed his creativity and ingenuity through tinkering and fixing almost anything, showcasing a resourcefulness that endeared him to family and friends alike.
Bert's legacy continues through his children, Sharon Griffith and her husband Bob of Henderson, Allan Collins and his wife Lisa of Kilgore, Robin Ruffo and her husband Eric of San Antonio, and Steven Stinocher of Tomball. He is also survived by his loving siblings, Nelley Savacool of Minden, Louisiana, Elaine Davis of Minden, Louisiana, Joyce Rowland (Robin) of Doyline, Louisiana, and Mavis McBride (Larry) of Minden; as well as a multitude of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren who carry on the joy and warmth that he inspired.
He was preceded in death by his parents, N.B. Shelley and Leola Norris Shelley; his beloved wife, Sybil Vickers Shelley; brothers Ray Maxwell Shelley and Milton Levelle Shelley; sister Margie Lee Ponder; grandson Mark Hawkins; nephew Guy Morgan, Jr.; and brothers-in-law Cecil Savacool, Buddy Davis, and Mack Ponder.
In remembrance of Bert's life, a visitation will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service starting at 11:00 AM both at Rader Funeral Home Chapel, located at 401 North Martin Street, Kilgore, Texas.

Bert Shelley's memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, as he leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and dedication to family that will be cherished for generations to come.
Pallbearers will be Terry Gilliam, Brian Clark, Levi Clark, Eli Clark, Brendon Sunday, and Richard Andrews.
