Lois Ruth Mix

Services for Mrs. Lois Mix, of Kilgore will be held on Friday, March 12, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore with Reverend Steve Ruby officiating. Entombment will follow at the Rosewood Park Mausoleum in Longview. Mrs. Mix passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 in Longview.

Lois was born on August 10,1931 in Henderson, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Washburn and Loma Watson. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene of Kilgore where she taught the Children’s Sunday school class for 39 years. Lois worked for the Longview Independent School District for 23 years She enjoyed listening to country music, sewing, gardening and playing the piano. Mrs. Mix was a very loving Christian woman strong in her faith. She enjoyed working and helped people whenever she could, but always cherished her time spent with her loving family.

Mrs. Mix was preceded in death by her husband, Austin Mix; son Garry Austin Mix; seven sisters and three brothers.

Lois is survived by her daughter, Kathy Mix of Longview; grandson, Stephen Trent Richardson, and wife Taylor of Crandall; granddaughters, Kristen Richardson Cage of Longview, Monica Kay Robbins and husband Jason of Wylie, and Misty Bolloch and husband Clint of Garland; great-grandchildren, Trent Richardson, Jr, Connor Cage, Hailey Robbins, and Sadie Robbins; sister, Rachel Whitfield and husband Curtis of Longview; several nieces and nephews.
