Services for Lisa Gay Camp Smith, 65, of Liberty City, will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel in Kilgore, Texas with visitation one hour prior. Following the service, burial will take place in the Danville Cemetery. Lisa, affectionately known as Gay, passed away on Tuesday morning in Andrews, Texas, after a brief battle with cancer.
Born on March 9, 1959, in Marshall, Texas, Gay was the cherished daughter of Bo and Carmen Camp. She received her education in Kilgore and Houston before graduating from high school in Brownfield, Texas, where she was proudly named homecoming queen her senior year. Demonstrating a commitment to her studies, she later graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas Tech University in Lubbock with a Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Sciences.
Gay is survived by her two beloved sons, Kyle Smith and his wife, Sally, of Odessa, Texas, and Kip Smith and his wife Bailey of Andrews, Texas. She was the proud grandmother of five grandchildren: Georgia, Captain, Keegan, Kason, and Koen. She is also survived by her devoted parents, Bo and Carmen Camp of Liberty City; her nephew, JR Camp and his wife, Magda, of Liberty City; her niece, Jill Thompson and her husband, Cody, of Denver, Colorado; as well as her great nieces, Annabell, Georgia, and Everleigh, along with many cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Guy Camp, Sr., and her grandparents, Hugh and Leta Camp, and G.U. and Anna Bell Yoachum.
Gay's legacy of love and kindness will be remembered by all who knew her.
