We mourn the passing of Lilyan Golden Milner, at her home on the last day of the year, 2020. She was born in Tulsa, OK to Bill Golden and wife Zora. Following the tragic death of her mother, eight year old Lilyan and younger sister Hannah, moved to The Jewish Children's Home at Newman Schools in New Orleans, where she was very serious about an education. She was an honor roll student graduating no.2 in her class, performed, in school musicals and president of the Senior Class. Lilyan's accomplishments in education solidified a work ethic that she and husband Mike Milner, married 58 years, were able to enjoy world travel late in life, acquiring some rental property, raising children, and have a successful business for 25 years, Lilyan's Hair Fashions. In 1992, at 69 years young, she earned her Bachelor's Degree in History from the University of Texas, Tyler.
Lilyan is survived by her daughter Reenie Milner, son Harry Milner and sister Hannah Golden Limerick. Preceded in passing, by her father Bill Golden, mother Zora, and husband Mike Milner.
Lilyan Milner's life extended beyond all but a few of her friends and customers, leaving few to recall the lives she touched, her generosity, along with a sense of humor. Those of us remaining will miss the lady and speak fondly of her. She will be missed, especially by Willie, a pup whose presence gave Lilyan much delight.
Graveside services for Lilyan will be held on Monday, January 4, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. in the Kilgore Cemetery with Rabi Neal Katz officiating.
