LaVon Janette Prince, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2025, in Tyler, Texas, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on February 6, 1957, in Houston, Texas, LaVon was known for her loving and caring spirit, always willing to help those in need. Her positive and upbeat attitude brightened the lives of everyone she encountered.
For decades, LaVon worked as Chief of Operations in the Healthcare Industry, where her sacrifices, dedication and project management skills were greatly valued. In addition to her professional achievements, she had a deep passion for traveling, arts and crafts, and creating door decorations to celebrate each season.
LaVon cherished her family above all else, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored. She spent countless hours visiting with the elderly, sharing her warmth and compassion with those around her. Her legacy will be carried on by her devoted husband, David Prince, and their loving children: Josh Brown, Brian Prince and wife Kyra, Jody Brown and wife Tatiana.
LaVon's grandchildren—Tristan, Aidan, Paxton, Marcus, Terrance, Laila, Brooklynn, and Avana—along with her great-grandchildren, Caidan, Omari, Zairyah, and Na’Riyah, will forever remember her gentle guidance and the profound love she provided.
A Celebration of Life in honor of LaVon Janette Prince will be held on September 22, 2025, starting at 11:00 AM at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore, Texas. Friends and family are invited to join together to reflect on the beauty of her life and the joy she brought to those around her. LaVon will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever remain alive in the hearts of her family and friends.
