Larry Joe Perry

May 1, 1947 — November 23, 2021

Larry Joe Perry, 74, of Liberty City, completed his earthly journey on November 23, 2021, in Longview. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2021, at 3:00pm, in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore, with Rev. Thomas Thompson officiating. Rev. Thomas Thompson became the brother in law of Larry after he introduced Larry and Judy many years ago. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:30 pm at the funeral home, prior to the service. Cremation arrangements under the direction of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore.
Larry was born on May 1, 1947, in Valliant, OK, to Willie and Laura Perry. He graduated from Mountain Park in OK. Larry was drafted during the Vietnam War and served his country well and was honorably discharged following two years of faithful service. Larry worked in several industries during his working years. However, he became a consultant in the oil and gas industry until his retirement. He married the love of his life, Judy, in September of 68 and they spent the next 53 years making loving memories together. Larry’s true passion was inventing. Most of his inventions were to help the oil and gas industry but also liked any invention that would help people work “smarter not harder”. His family was the source of his strength, and spending time with them was when he was happiest. Larry “Pappy” will be greatly missed by his family all who met him.
Larry was reunited with his parents, brothers John and David Perry and his sisters Qunnie Lawrence, Betty Reich and Nannie Perry.
Left to carry his memory are his loving wife, Judy of Liberty City; children, William Martin Perry and his wife Yoki of Longview, Stacy Perry Dyke and her husband Harlon Eugene of Shreveport, LA; grandchildren, Samantha Perry of Dallas, Matthew Perry of Dallas, Jasmine Perry of Longview, Casey Jo Dyke of Dallas, Michael Chad Dyke of Houston; great-grandchildren, Carley AlejandraRosas, Lexii Dyke, Axel Dyke; siblings, Doris Marie Thompson, twin brother Harold Lynn Perry, Leatha Wardell, Dorothy Meek, Willie Perry, J.D. Perry and Bertha Gain. Also, left to carry on his legacy are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and other loving family members.
