A proud graduate of Kilgore High School, Joyce dedicated her life to hard work, spending many fulfilling years as a waitress at the Kilgore Cafe and The Hot Biscuit, where she brightened the days of countless patrons with her warm smile and kind heart. Beyond her professional life, Joyce was a passionate bingo player and had a love for gambling that drew her to lively gatherings filled with laughter and excitement. She delighted in holiday cheer through her beloved Hallmark movies and found joy in the timeless melodies of Elvis Presley, which often echoed through her home.
Joyce's enthusiasm for life extended to her moments spent fishing, where she cherished the tranquility and beauty of nature, often reflecting on the many treasures of her family. Her greatest pride and accomplishment were her children and the bond they shared, which she always held dear to her heart.
She is survived by her loving children, Selena (James) Blackman, Eric Olson, Roy Henry, and Carrie (Brian) Smith. Joyce formed a beautiful life alongside her partner, Chris Olson, and relished the joy of being a grandmother to 10 grandchildren. Her sisters, Debi (Allen) McFarland and Kay (Tony) Dowell, share memories of laughter and sisterly bond, a testament to the love that ran deep in their family. Joyce is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Louis Smith. The loss of her grandsons, Brandon Duane and Justin Ray, left a profound mark on her life, yet her spirit remained strong as she navigated the complexities of grief.
