Joe Dorris, Sr.

Joe Dorris Sr. was born October 17, 1929 in Stephenville, Tx to James Carl Dorris and Kate Vaughn Dorris and passed away on December 18, 2020 in Good Sheppard Hospital, Longview, Texas.
He graduated Pine Tree HS in 1947 and attended college. He was drafted to the US Army February 1950 and served in Korea. He was discharged in March 1953.
Joe was an active member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church and a member of the Longview Masonic Lodge #404 for 65 years. He loved serving his Lord in mission work.
He is survived by his wife Johnnie Eads Dorris, daughter Leone Garmon & Darrel, son Joe Dorris, Jr. & Brenda, 3 step sons, Rick Jones & Sylvia, Mark Jones, Greg Jones & Kathy; 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 2 great- great grandchildren.
Memorial graveside services will be held on Monday, January 4, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Longview. The family will receives friends starting at 1:00 p.m. before services.
