Joan Bradley Light, a beloved member of the Kilgore community, passed away on June 29, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on October 21, 1934, in Jacksonville, Texas to L.E. Bradley and Doris Dean Bradley.
Joan worked for many years at Kilgore College, where she held the position of secretary in the Business Administration office, as well as in the Financial Aid and Human Resources offices. Her commitment to her work reflected her strong character and skillful nature.
A proud graduate of Kilgore College, Joan's education laid the foundation for her professional journey. Joan was not only dedicated to her career but also actively engaged in her church community. She was a devoted member of Camille Acres Baptist Church for over 60 years, where she fostered friendships and brought joy to many.
Joan was an accomplished individual with diverse interests, who loved cooking, sewing, floral designing, and expressing herself through various forms of art. She cherished spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren, and delighted in the moments spent with them. Joan is survived by her daughter Lynn Silvey and husband Paul of Joaquin, Texas, her son Alan Light and wife Julie of New Braunfels, Texas, her brother Bob Bradley and wife Sally of Flint, Texas, her grandchildren Cameron Hattig, Bailey Silveria, and Matthew Silvey, and her great-grandchild Logan Hattig as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Joan is predeceased by her husband, J. B. Light, and her parents, L.E. Bradley and Doris Dean Bradley and grandson, Zack Phillips
Visitation will take place on July 2, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Rader Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Thursday, July 3, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore with Mr. Mike Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow at Danville Cemetery.
Joan Bradley Light will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
