Kilgore, Texas
Jimmy Clarence Brinkley, 85, of Longview, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on August 10, 2026.
He proudly served in the United States Navy, a man whose quiet strength and genuine heart left a lasting mark on his family and everyone fortunate enough to know him. Whether through his steady presence, honest words, or the love he showed in his own way, Jim’s impact will be felt for generations.
Jim was a strong, hardworking man who lived his life on his own terms. His toughness was a part of who he was, but so was the love he had for his family. Those who knew Jim will remember his honesty, strength, and the lasting impression he made on the people around him.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Marilyn Brinkley, and his children: Sherri Myers of Navarre, Florida and Johnny Myers of Wichita, Kansas, Ashley Walker of Liberty City, Texas; Joseph Atkins of Longview, Texas; Casey Cummings of Hallsville, Texas and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as other loving family members.
Jim’s life will be remembered through the family he loved and the memories he leaves behind. Though he will be deeply missed, his strength, his words, and the memories shared with him will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
