Jimmie Faye Waller (née Courmier), beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2026, in Tyler, Texas. Born on June 8, 1940, in Orange, Texas, Jimmie Faye’s 86 years were filled with devotion to family, community, and faith.
Jimmie Faye was preceded in death by her parents, Chester Allen Courmier and Susan Jane Courmier; her husband, Willis Woodrow Waller; her son, Allen Duane Waller; and her brother, Gene Allen Courmier. She is survived by a loving family who cherished her presence and wisdom. Her sons, Dan Waller and Brian Waller, and their wives, Robbie and Kristy, hold dear memory of their mother’s unwavering support and encouragement. Her grandson, Kyle Waller (Maria) and granddaughter, Roberta Spencer (Isaac Brionas), and granddaughter Linda Thomas, remember fondly her laughter, advice, and stories. Jimmie Faye leaves behind her great-grandchildren Dustin Waller, Mattie Rogers, and Roper Cox, who will grow up with the legacy of her love. She is also survived by her niece Brenda Courmier and nephew Chester Courmier, who enjoyed a special bond with their aunt. Her friendship meant much to many, including lifelong friend Carolyn Smith.
A woman of many talents and steadfast determination, Jimmie Faye was the proud owner of Hair Fair Salon in Kilgore. Her skills as a beautician and dedicated business owner helped her build lasting relationships throughout her community. Those who visited her salon left not only looking better but feeling uplifted by her gentle spirit and attentive care. Jimmi Faye was a 1958 graduate of Leverett’s Chapel High School where she played the base drum in the band.
Jimmie Faye found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She delighted in crocheting, adventures outdoors held a special place in her heart; camping trips were a cherished tradition, and she never missed an opportunity to play cards or gather with family. These moments, filled with laughter and storytelling, are remembered as some of her brightest legacies.
Faith and service were central to Jimmie Faye’s life. She belonged to Laird Hill Baptist Church for more than 65 years, sharing her musical gifts by playing both the organ and piano. She also played the according with her group. Jimmie Faye served the Leverett’s Chapel School Board for over 38 years, exemplifying leadership, compassion, and a sincere desire to see her community thrive.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, August 23, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Rader Funeral Home, 401 N Martin St, Kilgore, TX. A funeral service in loving memory of Jimmie Faye Waller will be held on Monday, August 24, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Laird Hill Baptist Church, 12392 Co Rd 172A, Laird Hill, TX.
Jimmie Faye Waller’s gentle guidance, steadfast love, and abiding faith touched the lives of all who knew her. Her memory will continue to inspire her family, friends, and community for generations to come.
