Jaime Ceniceros,81, a longtime resident of Kilgore, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on April 30, 2026. Born on June 1, 1944, in Durango, Mexico, Jaime devoted over 50 years of his life to the Kilgore community.
Jaime worked for the City of Kilgore for more than 30 years. Earlier in his career, he was employed by Mr. Lamar Lewis and continued in that role until Mr. Lewis’s passing in 2003. Throughout his working years, Jaime was known for his dedication and strong work ethic.
Jaime had many passions. He loved gardening and landscaping, finding joy in nurturing plants and sharing the fruits of his labor with those around him. He treasured spending time outdoors, especially when surrounded by his family and his beloved dog, Benjamin, affectionately called "Benjah."
Jaime is survived by his wife of 32 years, Maria Ceniceros, who stood by his side through life’s journey. Together, they raised a wonderful family. His children include Roberto Ceniceros of Shreveport; Auroa, Isabel, and Alonso Ceniceros of Illinois; Ilvian (Andres) Torres and Berenice (Tomas) Valle of Kilgore; Norma, Jaime, and Victor Ceniceros of Mexico; and Uriel De Santiago of Shreveport. Jaime’s legacy extends to his many grandchildren: Jamie Ceniceros, Andrea Torres, Adrian Torres, Aiden Valle, Tristan Valle, Katie De Santiago, Jasmine De Santiago, Megan De Santiago, Mable Cruz, Melissa Cruz, Alexander Ceniceros, Vanessa Ceniceros, Daleyza Ceniceros, Soraida Ceniceros, Alonso Ceniceros, Zenett Ceniceros, and Pricila Ceniceros. He also leaves behind numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews as part of his extended family.
Jaime’s family remembers him fondly alongside his four-legged companion, Benjah, who was a loyal and constant presence in his life.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Maria Francisca; his parents, Domingo and Socorro Montelongo Ceniceros; and his beloved grandson, Ramon Ceniceros.
A Rosary will be held on May 9, 2026, beginning at 1:00 PM, immediately followed by Mass. Both services will take place at Christ the King Catholic Church, located at 1407 Broadway Boulevard in Kilgore, Texas.
Jaime Ceniceros will be remembered as a devoted family man, a dedicated worker, and a passionate gardener who cherished the simple pleasures of life and the people he loved. His presence in Kilgore for more than half a century left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
