James Andrew Hawkins, Ii

A Celebration of Life Service for Andy Hawkins, 59, of Texarkana, formerly of Kilgore will be held Saturday, September 18, 2021, at 4:00 p.m. at Highland Park Baptist Church in Kilgore with Rev. Riley Pippen officiating. Andy ended his earthly journey on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, in Tyler.

Andy was born on May 19, 1962 in Kilgore, Texas to the late Andrew Jackson Hawkins and Rita Jane Leach. Andy was a 1980 graduate of Kilgore High School and was active in the Kilgore High School Ag Department and FFA. He had many adventures as a young man, while he lived out his dream of being a cowboy, riding bulls and working with various cattle ranches throughout Texas. On January 11, 1986, he married Valarie Warren and became the father of Lauren in 1990, after several years of trying to become parents. In 1988, Andy graduated from Texas State Technical College in Waco with an Associates of Applied Science in Ranch Management. He also spent many years serving the Lord through Highland Park Baptist Church, as the sound technician and part of the local mission team. He was married to Valerie for 33 years. Then Andy found a new joy and married Angie Rovell on August 8, 2020. Andy was loved by many and his love and devotion to those he loved will forever be part of their hearts. He was a longtime member of Highland Park Baptist Church and a member of Forest Home Baptist Church. Andy was a loving and caring husband and father who will be missed by all that knew him.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Angelia Hawkins of Texarkana, Texas; daughter, Lauren Hawkins of Kilgore; mother of his daughter, Valerie Warren Hawkins; uncle, Charley Hawkins and wife Helen of Overton; cousins, Tony Leach and wife Kate of Stephenville, Texas, Holly Copeland of Kilgore and Pat Hawkins of Kilgore; stepson, Matthew Landrum and wife Kiersten of York, Pennsylvania and numerous other cousins along with other loving friends and family.
