Hope Gerene "Jean" Megason

Graveside services for Jean Megason, 99, of Kilgore, will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, November 20, 2020 at Avery Cemetery in Avery, Texas with Rev. David Hampton officiating. Jean passed away in Kilgore on November 16, 2020.

Jean was born on June 8, 1921 in Lubbock, Texas to the late Pike Blakeley and Myrtle Shelton. Mrs. Megason attended Kilgore schools before she moved to Hobbs, New Mexico. She worked for American National Insurance Company where she worked until her retirement. Jean lived in Hughes Springs for 30 years prior to moving to Kilgore in 2013. She was a loving and caring mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother who will be missed by all that knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Urial Megason; brother, Cliff Blakeley and sister-in-law, Marcella Megason.

Jean is survived by her sons, Thomas A Megason of Hughes Springs, Burle Megason and wife Joyce of Hobbs, New Mexico and Glenn Megason and wife Amy of Kilgore; brother, Dick Blakeley of Longview; six grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren and numerous other loving family members.
