Hilda Mae Hall

August 19, 1945 — May 6, 2025

Tatum

Hilda Mae (Brawner) Hall was born in Illinois Bend, Texas on August 19, 1945 to Emmett and Irene “Honey” Brawner. She grew up on the banks of the Red River and enjoyed fishing with her siblings Samuel, Roy, Nancy, and Lloyd. Hilda Mae joined her father, mother, and brothers Lloyd and Samuel in their Heavenly home on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at the age of 79.

Hilda lived in many places during her time on Earth including Illinois Bend, Nocona, Ft. Worth, Carrollton, Muenster, Gainesville, Kilgore, Beckville, and Tatum. With each move, she made sure to create a loving, warm, and welcoming home.

Hilda was so much more than a housewife. She was the beloved wife to Earl, whom she married at Bethel Baptist Church in Nocona, Texas on August 14, 1964. She was the precious Momma to Don and Robert. She was the loving Granny to Rob, Karlee, Jessie, Paige, Alex, Sami, Jaxon, Hannah-Mae, Eli, and Ella-Rae. Hilda was the sweetest, most caring person and she loved her family and the Lord dearly. She made sure that anyone that entered her home was treated like family, and you left feeling loved. She was a caretaker and teacher to her babies, making sure they knew all of their colors, numbers, letters, and shapes, and she watched more Barney and Teletubbies than any person should ever endure. Granny was the best fried chicken, Ramen noodle, spaghetti, sweet tea, and cinnamon toast maker. Nobody could make anything like Granny because she made it with her love. Hilda was smart as a whip and could dismantle, rebuild, draw out, and create just about anything she set her mind to. She was an extremely giving person, and would offer you her last Diet Coke no matter how badly she wanted it. Granny gave the absolute best hugs that made you feel loved, protected, and safe, and her smile lit up the room. She had the most hearty and contagious laugh; she laughed with her whole body. Poor thing couldn't tell a funny story without laughing, which inevitably made her listeners full on belly laugh, and caused the story to take ten times longer to tell. Her cooking, love, hugs, smiles, and laughs will be missed tremendously.

Hilda Mae is survived by her husband William Earl Hall, son Don Earl Hall and his wife Nakita, son Robert Dale Hall, grandchildren Robert Dale Earl Hall, Karlee Mae Hall and her wife Aneshia, Jessica Dawn Akin and her husband Seth, Paige Sadie Hall, Don Alexander Hall and his wife Rylie, Samantha Dawn Hall, Jaxon Dale Hall, Hannah-Mae Andrea Boyette, Elijah Lane Hall, and Ella-Rae Mari Hall, brother Roy C. Brawner and his wife Myrna, sister Nancy Sue Cornelison and her husband Cecil, sister-in-law Ann Brawner, sister-in-law Mary Ann Hess, and an abundance of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who became family.
