Heather Leigh Coats, born on December 29, 1973, in Longview, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026, in Kilgore, Texas. She was a shining light in the lives of those who knew her, known for her dedication to her career, her love for animals, and her passion for life.
Heather spent 22 years working for Coors of Longview and continued her dedicated spirit for the past 10 years at Kirby Restaurant Supply. Her work ethic was unparalleled; she approached each day with a career-oriented mindset that made her a dependable colleague and a respected figure in her industry.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Heather was an avid reader and enjoyed shopping and cross stitching in her leisure time. Her love for animals, particularly her adored cats, was evident to all who crossed her path. Her life was filled with moments of joy and compassion, traits that she carried with her in every aspect.
Heather earned her Accounting Degree from the University of Texas at Tyler, laying the foundation for her successful career. Her educational background complemented her hardworking nature, allowing her to excel in her chosen field.
She is survived by her loving mother, Carolyn Coats; her brother, Eric Coats; her aunts, Mary Daugherty and Nada Coats; along with numerous cousins and other cherished family and friends, her fur babies all of whom will miss her deeply.
Heather was preceded in death by her father, Timothy Ray Coats, and several aunts and uncles: Edward and Peggy Reagan, Malcom and Joyce Robuck, Lannie and Suzanne Coats, and Bill Coats.
A visitation in honor of Heather will be held on March 6, 2026, at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore, Texas, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Celebration of Life will take place the following day, March 7, 2026, starting at 2:00 PM also at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Elderville Cemetery.
Heather's memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her. She will be remembered for her strength, dedication, and the joy she brought to those around her. May she rest in peace.
