Glenda Joan Gordon Long, 83, of Kilgore was born on December 23, 1941, in Longview, Texas, and passed away on July 13, 2025, in Kilgore, Texas. She lived a full life characterized by her deep faith and her love for family and friends.
Growing up in the Pentecostal Church, Glenda was always surrounded by a strong sense of community and spirituality. Her passion for music was evident, as she enjoyed playing the piano, which brought joy to those around her. She had a fondness for birds and an enthusiasm for exploring yard sales, always searching for unique finds and treasures.
Glenda survived by her dear companion of over 30 years, Frutoso Moreno of Kilgore. She cherished her daughters, Lelsie Sowell and her husband, Anthony of Hawkins, and Gussie Perez of Longview. She is also survived by her brother, Charley Gordon, and his wife, Kathy, of Henderson. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Angela Olvera (Alex), Billy Huffman, Crystal Melim (Robert), Brooke Duncan, Joanna Bellah (Bradley Lester), and Calelan Perez (Timothy James Perry). Additionally, Glenda was blessed with great-grandchildren, including Shy Taylor, Ricky Pineda, Kylee Olvera, Mila Olvera, Ava Melim, Kennedy Melim, Easton Melim, Laney Duncan, Nathan Duncan, and Haley Duncan, along with three great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gus and Lucille Coy Gordon, as well as her siblings, Wayne Gordon, Terry Gordon, and Loy Gordon.
Visitation will be held at Rader Funeral Home, located at 401 North Martin Street, Kilgore, Texas, on July 18, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a Funeral Service at the same location from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
Glenda's life was a testament to the importance of faith, love, and family. She will be remembered fondly by all who knew her, leaving a lasting impact on the hearts of her loved ones.
