Gayle Dianne Geeslin

February 24, 1945 — December 6, 2023

Gayle Dianne Adamson Geeslin of Kilgore, 78, passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 6, 2023, in Tyler with her beloved daughter at her side. A memorial service will be held 2:00 in the afternoon Saturday, December 23, 2023, at Gladewater First Assembly of God.

Gayle was born February 24, 1945, in Texas City to Othal and Lula Adamson. She grew up in Texas City with her sister Mina Jo. Gayle graduated from Texas City High School, then Hardin-Simmons University in Abeline with her nursing certification. Later, she attended the University of Texas at Tyler and proudly earned a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing Science. As a Registered Nurse, Gayle followed her passion, caring for those who needed her at every hospital in East Texas where she made many great memories and several lifelong friends. She retired after 32 years of nursing. Gayle enjoyed singing and playing her piano. She was creative and loved to crochet, quilt and make all sorts of small knickknacks, especially any she could sell to help those in need, including regularly making macaroni angels which she would sell and donate the proceeds to her church, Gladewater First Assembly of God. Gayle’s passion was her lord and savior, she lived her life to show God’s love to others. Gayle also enjoyed cooking and baking, her legendary spice rack contributing to many delicious, homecooked meals.

Gayle was a loving mother to Shanna Geeslin Keahey of Kilgore, beloved Meme to her grandsons Colton (Kisha) Newberg of Kilgore and Caden Newberg of Kilgore, sister-in-law to Virgil Hickman, aunt, great-aunt and dearest friend. Gayle is dearly missed by all who have had the privilege of knowing and loving her. Each of her family and friends will cherish the memories they hold dear until reunited with Gayle once again. She was reunited in passing with her father Othal Adamson and mother Lula Clark Adamson, and her sister Mina Jo Hickman.
