Serves for Eddie Paul “E.P” Harter, 69, of Kilgore will be held Monday, October 17, 2022, at ten o’clock in the morning at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore with Reverend Rusty Brady officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 16, 2022, from one until three o’clock in the afternoon at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore. Mr. Harter completed his earthly journey on Thursday, October 13, 2022, in Longview.
Eddie was born on April 25, 1953, in Lamesa, Texas, to Joyce Jackson and Henry Clayton Harter. He graduated from Gladewater high school in 1972. On April 5, 1974, he married Cindy Lou Boothe. They shared thirty-six joyful years of marriage before her passing. In his earlier years Eddie participated in many rodeos, riding bulls. After school Eddie worked at Lebus International in Longview for forty years before his retirement. He married Kathrine Lee Wallace Harter on June 7, 2013. Eddie adored his family; they were his source of happiness. His favorite pastimes were grilling, NASCAR, playing videogames with his grandchildren and having a cold one. Eddie also loved football and never missed a Cowboys or Longhorns game. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Left to cherish Eddie’s memory are his wife Kathrine Harter, children Ethan Harter, Zachary Harter, Kaylin Harter, Heath Harter, and Bryan Harter, sister Debra Rinehart, nine grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving family members.
He was reunited with his parents, late wife Cindy Lou Boothe Harter, and sister Janice “Twinkle” Haller.
