Dorothy Stalcup, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on September 24, 2025, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 4, 1937, in Miami, Florida, and raised in Tyler, Texas, where she graduated from Robert E. Lee High School. Following her graduation, she married A.J. Stalcup, Jr., beginning a lifelong journey filled with love and commitment.
Dorothy served as a bookkeeper and proof operator in various banking institutions. She also embraced the opportunity to work closely with her son, Randy Stalcup, in his business, Innovative Manufacturing, where she continued to showcase her hard work and energy.
Described as the glue of her family, Dorothy dedicated herself wholeheartedly to her loved ones. Her life embodied the qualities of Proverbs 3:15-17, emphasizing her value and the richness she brought to those around her. Her personality radiated warmth, and her paths were well-trodden with peace and pleasantness.
She leaves behind her cherished husband, A.J. Stalcup, Jr. of Gilmer, Texas, as well as her children: son Randy Stalcup of Gilmer and daughter Karen Florence and her husband Bud of Liberty City. Dorothy's legacy continues through her grandchildren, Preston Florence and his wife Krystal, Brandon Florence and his wife Jonetta, and her great-grandchildren, Khloe, Hudson, Athena, and Bowen.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Edward Belcher and Margaret Theodore Cobb, as well as an infant son and two great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on September 26, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore. A funeral service will be held on September 27, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Abundant Life Church, located at 409 Money St., Gladewater, Texas with Rev. Mark Whitehead, Bishop Michael D. McGuire and Dennis Black officiating. Burial will follow at Kilgore Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Dorothy will always be remembered for her indomitable spirit, her love of family, and the joy she brought into all their lives.
