Dorothy Elizabeth Baudat Emerson was born on November 12, 1935, and left this world on September 23, 2024. Dorothy grew up in Houston, Texas, and graduated from Humble High School—and later moved to Livingston. Towards the end of her life, she moved to Kilgore with her younger sister Mary where she became a member of the Pirtle Methodist Church.
Dorothy loved the beach and flowers. She was impulsive and young at heart. About fifteen years ago, when she was visiting her sister, her niece came to get a suitcase, and Dorothy found out she was going to Port Aransas to meet some friends. Dorothy packed her bag and was in the car within half an hour—and they were off on a great adventure. Her second love was flowers—and it didn’t matter what kind. She could often be found working in the flower beds and seeding new flowers; it did not matter, just so her hands were in the dirt. She also loved any kind of joke--and was the first to tell one if she could remember it! She loved kids, and she was proud to be one at the ripe old age of 88!
Dorothy will be missed by her son, Paul Biquet and his wife Sandi of Conroe; her son Philip Biquet of Livingston; grandchildren Travis Biquet, Sarah May Henderson Martin, Rebeca Henderson; three sisters, Annette Bethany of Spring, Mary Clark of Kilgore, and Eva Watson of Jasper. She will also be missed by many nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter Debbie Henderson, her grandson Adam Henderson, both of her parents, and her brothers Emile and Jimmy Baudat.
Dorothy's funeral service will be held at Pirtle Methodist Church on Saturday, September 28 at 4:00 pm with a visitation held from 3:00 until 4:00. Dorothy will be laid to rest at Pirtle Cemetery immediately following her funeral service.
