Dora Bertha Velasquez, 51, completed her earthly journey in her home on Saturday, September 19, 2020 in Kilgore, Texas.

Dora Velasquez was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She was an outstanding Eligibility Specialist at Wellness Pointe of Longview for over 13 years. Dora was known by a lot of different names: Tia Doe, Dorita, and Mama Dora. She was so loving and kind that she never met a stranger. Dora was one for the art of makeup; she was usually found sporting vibrant eyeshadows of green, blue, or purple, and her favorite red lipstick. Dora’s favorite product to wear was always a smile. She was a comedian; often finding new and inventive ways to make her family and friends laugh. She never took life too seriously and always made sure to have a good time. With a strong shoulder for leaning, a great ear for listening, and words filled with wisdom, Dora was a safe place to many people. She was faithful in her love for the Lord. She was a devoted member of Forest Home Baptist Church. Her weekends were always filled with family and God. Every Saturday morning, without fail, she would meet her sister, Claudia, for breakfast. They would alternate who chooses the restaurant and who pays for the meal that day. Often, they were accompanied by Sophia, the light of her life. Dora enjoyed traveling. She constantly made her way to San Antonio, Texas to spend time with her mother and family. She was a foodie; always excited to try new foods. She left a legacy of kindness wherever she went and will forever be missed by many.

Dora was born on August 11, 1969 in Piedras Niegras, Coahuila.
