Debra Lynn McElhaney
Services for Debra Lynn McElhaney, 63, of Liberty City will be held on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at 2:00pm at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore. Debra ended her earthly journey on October 29, 2021, in Longview.
She was born on January 1, 1958, to Jimmy and Helen Sharpton in Beaumont. She was a proud Sabine Cardinal and loved her community. Debra Lynn Sharpton- McElhaney was known to her friends as Lu-Lu, to her grandchildren she was Ma-Moe, and to the love of her life she was My Special Angel. Debbie never missed anything involving her family, whether it was serving as a band booster president for 12 years, driving for hours to cheer at the top of her lungs for her nephews and grandkids, or even a small gathering, if her family was there then Debbie was too.
Debra is survived by her loving husband Patrick McElhaney of Liberty City, daughters, Misty Walls and husband Taylor Walls of Overton, Stacey Thornton and husband Cody Thornton of Kilgore, Erin Whitaker and husband John Whitaker of Mineola, grandchildren, Loren Walls of Overton, Caden Thornton of Kilgore, Sean Thornton of Kilgore, father, Jimmy Sharpton, sister, Vicky McElhaney and husband Donny McElhaney of San Augustine, nephews, Jimmy McElhaney and wife Christina, Trey McElhaney and wife Kristen, John Patrick McElhaney of San Augustine, mother-in-law, Judith Denman of Nacogdoches, brothers-in-law, Guy McElhaney and wife Machelle, Kye McElhaney and wife Stephanie, sisters-in law, JoAnna Ringel and husband Carr, Wendi Thornburgh and husband Steve, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and other loving friends and family members.
